State Representative Alicia St. Germaine of Harrison Township welcomed musician and Michigan outdoorsman Ted Nugent to testify before the Michigan House of Representatives. Nugent addressed a joint committee regarding his concerns about the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
Nugent presented his views to the House Committee on Natural Resources, the DNR Appropriations Subcommittee, and the Oversight on the Weaponization of State Government Subcommittee. He expressed his belief that there has been repeated overreach by the department, specifically in enforcement practices affecting small farms, wildlife rehabilitators, and private landowners in Michigan.
"It was great to have Ted Nugent share his frustrations with the DNR," stated Rep. St. Germaine. "The DNR and Natural Resources Commission have weaponized their authorities, and as legislators, it’s our job to ensure that state departments are transparent, accountable, and treating Michigan residents fairly. It’s time we bring some common sense back into how these state agencies operate. I appreciate Ted’s willingness to speak up and shine a light on these serious issues."
