Representative Wozniak supports new mission at Selfridge announced by President Trump

State Representative Doug Wozniak from Shelby Township expressed his support for a new fighter mission at the Selfridge Air National Guard Base following President Donald Trump's visit to Macomb County. In a statement made public, Wozniak remarked, “I’m proud to join countless Macomb County residents in celebrating President Trump’s announcement of a new fighter mission at Selfridge."

Wozniak highlighted the significance of this development, emphasizing that it reinforces the base's importance in national defense and the local economy. The Shelby Township representative added, "This long-awaited commitment is crucial to strengthening the base’s future and supporting the men and women who serve there."

Wozniak also stated that the announcement by President Trump "brings stability to the base and reinforces its role as a strategic asset for Michigan and the nation." He noted the positive impact on local employment, as "this new mission secures thousands of jobs and strengthens our region’s economic future."

Furthermore, Wozniak mentioned that the Michigan House of Representatives had passed House Resolution 78 in support of the President’s decision. “Today on the House floor, we passed House Resolution 78 to support the President’s decision to move forward with the new fighter mission for Selfridge," Wozniak said, acknowledging the collective efforts behind the initiative. He expressed gratitude to those involved and anticipation for the potential benefits to the community and the country.
