State Representative Alicia St. Germaine of Harrison Township recently spearheaded the adoption of House Resolution 78. This resolution backs President Trump's decision to introduce a new fighter mission at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. The initiative involves the introduction of the F-15EX Eagle II aircraft at Selfridge, replacing the retiring A-10 Thunderbolt fleet, thereby ensuring the future operations of this historic military base.

"Selfridge has been a vital asset not only to Macomb County, but to the entire state of Michigan," said Rep. St. Germaine. According to her, the base provides numerous high-paying jobs, boosts the regional economy, and is a significant contributor to national defense efforts. She emphasized that the new fighter mission demonstrates strong support from the local community and marks a significant investment in Michigan’s military capabilities.

"I’m honored to present this House resolution celebrating a new chapter for Selfridge," added Rep. St. Germaine. She noted that the decision bolsters the country's armed forces, supports military families, and maintains Michigan's leading role in American airpower. St. Germaine also expressed gratitude to President Trump for his leadership and dedication to safeguarding Michigan and the nation.
