SKYWARN is a nationwide network of volunteer weather spotters who are trained by NOAA's National Weather Service (NWS) to identify many forms of significant or severe weather such as Severe Thunderstorms, Tornadoes, Hail, Heavy Snow, and Flooding.
The next spotter training is Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 7:00pm.
This winter spotter class will be virtual and last roughly an hour and 15 minutes. Topics include:
-A review of the 2021-22 winter season
-A look at winter weather climatology
-Examination of winter weather meteorology
-NWS winter forecast products
-Review of guidelines & reporting procedure for winter weather spotters
