1. TOLL STREET RECONSTRUCTION – LORAIN TO ROESSLER
Salenbien Trucking & Excavating of Dundee is the prime contractor for the reconstruction of Toll Street from Lorain to Roessler. The project is expected to now last into November. Subcontractor GM & Sons has now completed all mainline paving on Toll from Calkins to Roessler and on Lorain Street from Toll to Roessler, and those roadways are now open for traffic. Removals of Toll Street pavement between Lorain and Calkins and of Calkins between Toll and Roessler will occur either late this coming week or early the week of November 2, depending on the availability of the subcontractor, with placement of new concrete immediately after.
2. FORMER LA-Z-BOY SITE INFASTRUCTURE INSTALLATION
Salenbien Trucking & Excavating will be continuing the installation of underground utilities and extending Holiday Drive into the former La-Z-Boy World Headquarters site next week, with the work lasting through mid-October. The work to install a dedicated right-turn lane on northbound Telegraph Road is being postponed until 2021 due to utility conflicts, so traffic impacts are expected to be minimal for the rest of the year. For the coming week, the contractor plans to place new curbs for the new section of Holiday Drive, so there may be only intermittent closures of the northbound right lane during this work.
3. SIDEWALK / CONCRETE PATCH SPOT LOCATION REPLACEMENTS
Concrete Saw Cutters LLC of Dundee and Salenbien Trucking & Excavating of Dundee are teaming up to replace a number of spot sidewalks and roadway patches in concrete throughout the City. No roadways will be completely closed, but there could be spot lane closures in various places. Work is expected to last into November.
