Macomb County Animal Control issued the following announcement on March 23.
Meet Velma!
Velma is currently in foster care and enjoying her time away from the shelter. This is what the foster has to say about Velma:
Velma is a great dog with a very affectionate personality. She loves the attention of her humans and is happy to spend an afternoon cuddled up on your lap. At night, she has no problems with getting into her crate and sleeps well throughout the night without issue. In the morning, she greets you with her tail wagging like crazy ready to enjoy the day! In addition to how much she loves humans, she listens well as she understands basic commands and is house trained.
Currently, Velma is being fostered with 2 very large dogs. Based on their interactions, Velma would do best in a home with a dog of equal high energy and a savvy handler to allow for a slow introduction.
While close to perfect, Velma could benefit from more training to control her initial excitement and urge to jump. Once settled, she turns into the perfect lap dog that we love. This likewise applies to leash walking as she is excited by people and other critters. Velma is eager to please and is trainable.
Overall, Velma is a truly amazing dog that deserves a great forever home with a family that loves her as much as she loves them!
