County of Macomb issued the following announcement on Mar. 9.
Macomb Community Action, in partnership with Michigan State University Extension, will be one of many community organizations throughout the state hosting a virtual Show Me the Money Day – Michigan.
Show Me the Money Day 2022 is a virtual event that features free and low-cost financial assistance materials and financial workshops. Local events are held annually across Michigan during tax season and promote opportunities to increase income, as well as how to save and build assets. Macomb Community Action's free, virtual event will take place on Wednesday, March 23 and interested individuals can register at bit.ly/SMTMD-2022.
In 2021, Show Me the Money Day touched 3,700 Michigan residents across the state. Nearly 80 percent of attendees were from low- to moderate-income households. Overall, 65 percent of surveyed participants reported feeling more hopeful about their financial future after attending Show Me the Money Day.
