Martha T. Berry Medical Care Facility issued the following announcement on July 2.
To all: Thank you for your support and patience as we continued to wait for approval to begin opening the facility to visitation. The governor's restrictions on entry to nursing homes is still in place.
However, Director Robert Gordon of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services produced an Order with immediate effect that allows some exceptions to the temporary restrictions on visitation. There are Thirty Four (34) stipulations and four references to specific components of an executive order that our team will need to understand and comply with prior to allowing the exceptions.
Our team has been waiting to open up to some visitation, and had a plan, but again the 34 stipulations need to be reviewed and operationalized before we can allow visitation on a restricted basis. I have asked the team to have some visitation in place starting July 13th.
NOTE: We continue to have window visits, for those who wish to continue.
I hope to have more out to you on Friday or Saturday (July 3 or 4) of this week. Stay strong and thank you for understanding how much effort it will take to quickly get the restrictions in the letter sorted out.
Kevin
