Macomb Planning Economic and Development issued the following announcement on Sept. 29.
Grant opportunity to help local organizations impacted by COVID-19
Macomb County Planning and Economic Development (MCPED) today opened a new grant opportunity for local nonprofit and social impact organizations recovering from COVID-19 and the ongoing economic crisis. The program will use federal CARES Act funding to make $1.5 million available for qualified applicants.
“Nonprofits play an essential role in Macomb County,” said Vicky Rad, director of MCPED. “These organizations are on the ground in our neighborhoods providing services and support to ensure the health and wellbeing of our residents, but like our small businesses, they were hit hard by COVID-19 and the shutdown. With our new grant program, we hope to provide the assistance our nonprofits need so they can continue to serve our community during these challenging times.”
The grant application process will remain open through October 13, 2020 at 12 p.m. All submissions will be reviewed by an independent grant selection committee of local civic leaders.
