Macomb County Emergency Management issued the following announcement on June 25.
#OnThisDay in 2009, A weak low pressure system coupled with high instability triggered several severe thunderstorms along and south of I 69 during the afternoon hours and early evening hours. Southern #MacombCounty was hardest hit, as the majority of the 80,000 DTE customers who lost power resided in Macomb county.
