MACOMB COUNTY SHERIFFS OFIICE: Great Job Deputy Mayes!

Roanecosheriff

Macomb County Sheriffs Ofiice issued the following announcement on Dec. 25.

We get many great (as well as not so great) private messages through Facebook each week. We appreciate them all and make sure to share them with the deputies. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us and share your experiences! This message is from last week - Thank you Telia.

"Last night my daughter and I were headed to pick up her car at Serra Buick in Romeo. Prior to leaving she ate some stew i had made at my house and a piece of meat got caught in her throat. On the way there we had to stop a couple of times to see if she could get it out. We were almost to the dealership and had to stop along Van Dyke one more time. While we were stopped flashing lights popped up in my rear view mirror. Immediately I thought what had I done. Thankfully I hadn't done anything wrong. The young officer stopped to see if we needed help. At this point we did not because she had dislodged some of the meat. I tell this story because his kindness struck a chord in me that I can't forget. I have many law enforcement officers in my family, have worked with many of them and have many as my customers.

I know their struggle, I know their daily grind and I know they have way more important things to do than to see how we are doing. Deputy Mayes was the police officer that helped us and i want to make sure he knows how appreciated he is. I sure hope he got some of the goodies we dropped off Saturday night to the offices.  Thank you to all the men and women keeping us safe. Merry Christmas."
