The Sterling Heights Area Community Foundation announced on Apr. 1 that it will hold its 2025 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at noon at the Sterling Heights Community Center located at 40250 Dodge Park Road. The event is open to the public and will include city, county, and other guests.
The meeting aims to highlight the foundation’s accomplishments over the past year and outline future plans for growth. Leaders will review financial status and present grants supporting cultural, educational, and recreational activities intended to improve quality of life for area residents. Grant recipients are expected to share how they have used foundation funds, while endowment partners will discuss their earnings.
Grants from the foundation support a wide range of community programs including Sterlingfest Art & Music Fair, Cultural Exchange events, youth sports leagues such as baseball and basketball, senior center initiatives like scoreboards and benches along trails, police department programs focused on safety education and building relationships with youth, library resources including summer reading programs and maker space equipment upgrades. Additional funding goes toward local schools’ career focus initiatives and robotics teams as well as organizations like Play Place for Autistic Children in Sterling Heights.
“The Sterling Heights Area Community Foundation had a strong 2025 calendar year, fulfilling our mission to enhance the quality of life of Sterling Heights area residents with ever increasing contributions funding cultural, educational and recreational activities in the Community, while building record assets and strengthening our brand throughout the City and Macomb County,” said Foundation Executive Director and President Emeritus Karl G. Oskoian. “We have grown the Foundation consistently since its inception in 1991, passing significant financial and strategic goals while contributing more than $1.8 million to community organizations and activities that support our mission. The Foundation’s future is very bright and poised to continue sustainable increasing annual growth and income enabling year over year expansion of our mission area community contributions, in perpetuity, built from 35 years of strong, steady and consistent leadership and financial performance.”
Sterling Heights promotes heritage awareness dating back to prehistoric times through cultural programs offered by various community resources according to the official website.
