Convention of States Michigan has issued the following press release:

The average American is growing more frustrated with the federal government and the feelings are crossing party lines. Rising energy prices, unclear foreign policies, and extra-legal mandates by regulatory agencies are uniting Americans across the political spectrum against the increasing presence of Washington DC in their daily lives. Did you know that in a federal republic, like the United States, the highest government authority resides with the lowest, most local form of government? Now there is a non-partisan grassroots activist organization that is letting people know that they have an option. And it is already in the Constitution.

Convention of States’ mission is to build an engaged army of self-governing grassroots activists. The only way we can take back our country is when we the people unite and say ‘no more’ to the tyrannical government. The Framers anticipated that a time might come when the Congress no longer acted in accordance with the will of the People, so they inserted a process for a Convention of States called by the several State Legislatures.

The Convention of States project-Michigan is holding a town hall meeting to teach citizens about the rights they have and how the local and State legislatures can reclaim the checks-and-balances power they were given by the Framers. Come and learn how you as a regular citizen can get involved locally in a nationwide movement to save America and put an end to federal government overreach.
